In front of a packed house at the Strathmore Family
Centre, the Lethbridge Hockey Hounds took another one goal game 5-4
over the Wheatland Chiefs to even the MAA League Championship Series
at 2 games apiece.
The Hounds, who took a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period,
eventually saw that lead evaporate as the Chiefs Jesse Koch notched
2 markers mid-way in the period to knot the score at 4-4. Lethbridge
got the game winner off the stick of Ross Fox at the end of a scramble
in front the the Wheatland net with 6:50 remaining.
Despite a furious final few
minutes in their own end, the Hounds held on to force a 5th and deciding
game in Lethbridge, Friday night at 8:30 pm at the Henderson Areana.

Midget AA - SCAHL
The Midget AA League Championship series will continue
to a game 4 in Strathmore, as the Lethbridge Hockey Hounds took a
3-2 overtime win Monday night in Lethbridge. Taylor Lenaour scored
just 16 seconds into the 1st overtime period to end the match, and
give the Hockey Hounds their first victory in the series.
Lethbridge jumped off to a 2-0 lead on goals from Ben
Bohle and Ross Fox, only to see Wheatland come back to tie the game
early in the 3rd. Wheatland scorers were Lucas Ford and Jesse Koch.
Chiefs goalie Joel Miller faced 51 shots in net.
Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Strathmore,
with the puck dropping at 6:30 pm. Wheatland needs just one win to
take the Championship, while Lethbridge tries to bring the series
back home for a final game 5 match-up. The last 2 games in the series
have gone to OT, and much like the 5 game 2007 Championship between
these two programs which saw all games decided by 1 goal differentials,
each game is great contest.
